- Warm the almond milk to about 100*F and whisk in the yeast and some of the sugar, set aside to activate
- In a mixing bowl place the flour, salt, remaining sugar, and vanilla extract. Begin to mix the ingredients together one low speed with a dough hook
- Add in the vegan butter and incorporate the activated yeast mixture
- Once all ingredients are combined, turn on to a medium speed for about 8-12 minutes until the dough has built gluten and is read
- Place the dough into a lightly greased bowl and cover with plastic. Allow dough to rise for about an hour or until the dough has doubled in size
- Punch down the dough and roll out to desired thickness and cut the dough into desired size of donut
- Place onto a lined tray, and allow a second proof on the dough before frying
- Fry donuts and allow to cool slightly before glazing
