Since EPGB and the Gremi de Pastisseria de Barcelona, promoters of the Best Artisan Panettone in Spain competition, included two categories - classic and chocolate - no one had ever won in both categories until this edition. The brothers Lluís and Gerard Costa took all the accolades by winning a historic double.
Our ambassador, together with his brother Gerard, received the first prize for his chocolate panettone, made with Ocumare 71.1% dark chocolate couverture and Zeylon 36.5% milk chocolate couverture, from the hands of the previous winner, Eric Ortuño. Minutes later, he returned to the stage to collect the prize for the best classic panettone, presented by Daniel Jordà. An enormous merit considering the high level of participation - with 80 samples presented to the competition - and the high level of the finalists.
