Meet Yvonne

She is a Cocoa Horizons farmer who has participated in our women's agroforestry training to enable women to earn an income and develop farming skills.

Via our Cocoa Horizons program (today in Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, and Tanzania) we're aiming to improve the livelihoods of cocoa farmers and their communities. An activities based approach to sustainability, the program focuses on activities targeting improved productivity focused on farmer coaching, support and finance, and community level initiatives including child protection and education, women's empowerment, and health. By scaling impact and driving on-the-ground change, Cocoa Horizons is our preferred way forward in order to achieve our Forever Chocolate sustainability ambitions for cocoa.

“I hope to set an example for other women in my village, so that they can see that there’s a way for them to have financial independence and to be strong and proud. When I train other women, and I see the effect it has on them and their confidence and independence, it fills me with pride. Every woman should have the opportunity to feel that way.”
Yvonne Amenan Konan - farmer/farmer trainer, Côte d’Ivoire
