John Tiefel

John Tiefel joined the Board of Barry Callebaut in 2025. 

He is an experienced board member, investor, and senior advisor with deep expertise in FMCG, retail, and industrial operations. He currently serves as Independent Board Member at Moser & Cie and as Senior Advisor to McKinsey & Company.

Over a distinguished 26-year career at McKinsey, John advised leading global consumer goods and retail companies, and delivered large-scale transformations in sales, supply chain, and operations. He successfully led more than 100 strategy and performance improvement programs across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia. He is very familiar with BC’s operational side.

Prior to McKinsey, John held executive roles at Royal Begemann Group, including Vice President of US Operations. where he drove growth for one of the subsidiaries. John holds an MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and an MSc in Business Engineering from the University of Antwerp.
