Barry Callebaut reaffirms support for EUDR implementation without additional delay

Story
Looking ahead to the upcoming Plenary vote on the recently presented motion for resolution in the ENVI Committee, Barry Callebaut re-emphasizes its position and respectfully opposes the proposal. Barry Callebaut continues to support the benchmarking approach originally proposed by the European Commission

Barry Callebaut takes note of the Environmental Committee’s vote in favour of motions for resolution published on June 24.

For the past three years, Barry Callebaut - as well as many of our customers - have been a strong advocate for this vital legislation in its current form as we believe it is our responsibility to lead efforts in halting deforestation and advancing sustainable farming practices throughout our supply chain - all the way from farmers to our customers.

Achieving a sustainable transformation of the cocoa supply chain requires concerted effort and resources from all stakeholders. Over the past year, we've strengthened our commitment to implementing end-to-end traceability by making significant progress in building a sustainable and traceable cocoa and chocolate supply chain, reinforcing our leadership position in sustainability. The key focus has been on implementing a rigorous, organization-wide approach to prepare for this important Regulation with the aim to deliver "best-in-class sustainability" to our customers around the world.

We remain committed to being compliant with the EUDR requirements by the application date (30/12/2025).
