Barry Callebaut CARES: Contributing to the global food supply chain during the Coronavirus pandemic

Keeping the food chain going

As the world’s leading manufacturer of high-quality chocolate and cocoa products, Barry Callebaut cares by contributing and playing our role in producing food products during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. By keeping our operations running, we are contributing to a functioning supply chain - from supporting cocoa farmers, working closely together with our suppliers up to delivering our customers with high-quality and safe cocoa and chocolate products.

Protecting our employees

Our priorities are the safety of our people and the communities in which we operate as well as the continuity of the global food chain, helping that essential food product can reach the consumers daily.  In the context of the Coronavirus pandemic, Barry Callebaut has been putting in place a series of precautionary measures to provide the safest possible working environment.

Continuing to support cocoa farmers

With our long-standing tradition of supporting cocoa farmers in cocoa origin countries, we continue to purchase and deliver cocoa, process cocoa in the origin in our factories, and ensure, as much as possible, the economic viability of the cocoa supply chain. We will continue to coach cocoa farmers on sustainable cocoa production, whilst also distributing World Health Organization (WHO) COVID-19 protective instructions and sensitizing farmer communities on the risk of COVID-19, providing each family with soap via local coaches.
