Barry Callebaut expands its operations in Ivory Coast: Significant increase of cocoa processing capacities in Ivory Coast

Barry Callebaut, the world’s leading manufacturer of high-quality cocoa and chocolate products, plans to increase its cocoa processing operations by more than 50% in Ivory Coast over the next two years to respond to an increase in demand for cocoa liquor as more and more previously fully-integrated food companies outsource their primary cocoa liquor and chocolate needs. Barry Callebaut is well positioned to further benefit from this trend and is therefore securing future supplies by expanding its operations in Ivory Coast, the world’s largest cocoa growing nation.

Barry Callebaut and Hershey complete strategic agreement

Barry Callebaut, the world’s leading manufacturer of high-quality cocoa and chocolate products, and The Hershey Company (NYSE:HSY), North America’s leading manufacturer of high-quality chocolate and confectionery products, today announced that they have entered into agreements for a strategic supply and innovation partnership. In May 2007, the parties announced their intention to enter into these agreements. Barry Callebaut will start liquid chocolate and finished product deliveries to Hershey within the next few months.
