Callebaut® ‘Growing Great Chocolate’ program grew by a third in 2013
Callebaut® presented today the latest news on its Growing Great Chocolate program. Under it Callebaut® has been since 2012 producing its entire Finest Belgian Chocolate range with sustainable cocoa. As of the end of August 2013, Callebaut® was training nearly 40 000 cocoa farmers. Compared with 2012, this is an increase of 33% in the number of trained farmers. And Callebaut® will continue to focus this year on increasing farmer field schools, academies, mobile educational trucks, and the total number of trained farmers.
Callebaut® created chocolate fashion décor to the Belgian themed Opening Ceremony show
During the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York, Opening Ceremony presented its new Fall/Winter 2014 collection in an impressive chocolate décor created by Callebaut®. The Opening Ceremony fashion show and collection is inspired by founders Carol Lim and Humberto Leon’s travels to Belgium. As Callebaut® chocolate has been crafted in the small Belgian town of Wieze from bean to chocolate since 1911, to Opening Ceremony there was no way around Callebaut® for their Belgium themed fashion show.

Peter Hernou is the new Belgian Chocolate Ambassador for Callebaut®. The company announced the news during the opening night of the Salon Du Chocolat at Tour & Taxis in Brussels. The ‘Latte Art’ world champion will employ his expertise in the new range of ‘Finest Belgian Hot Chocolate’, high quality hot chocolate for the catering sector based on Belgian chocolate callets in six different flavors. The collaboration between Peter Hernou and Callebaut® is a response to increasing consumer demand for ‘genuine hot chocolate’.
