Barry Callebaut has, throughout the years, been recognized with a multitude of awards for its commitment to sustainability, pioneering innovations, and for creating inspiring infrastructures including warehouses and offices.

2024

We are one of a few companies that achieved an ‘A’ out of over 21,000 companies. CDP's annual environmental disclosure and scoring process is widely recognized as the gold standard of corporate environmental transparency. The annual ‘A list’ names the world's businesses leading on environmental performance.

CDP evaluates organizations' engagement with their suppliers on climate change. For their 2023 Supplier Engagement Rating, we have reached the Leadership level, putting us among the top 25% of Food and Beverage processing companies.

2023

This is the fifth consecutive year that Barry Callebaut has been recognized as an industry leader in the management of the ESG risks in our supply chain.

We are proud to have been named a Supplier Engagement Leader by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) for 2022. This puts us in the top 8% of companies worldwide. CDP is an international non-profit that operates a global environmental disclosure system for businesses, cities, regions, and countries.

Agoria, Fevia Vlaanderen and Flanders' FOOD crown the most forward-looking production companies.

 

2022

CDP, the world leader in environmental reporting, has again honored Barry Callebaut for its leadership in corporate transparency and excellence in forestry. Out of almost 15,000 companies evaluated in 2022, Barry Callebaut is one of only 25 top-performing firms to be included on CDP's esteemed ‘Forests A List’.

Barry Callebaut has been recognized by Sustainalytics as #1 among 579 companies in the ‘Food Product’ category. This is our fourth consecutive year receiving recognition as an industry-leading company in managing Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) risks within our supply chain.

Our interior design scheme was awarded 94 out of 100 points, making it the highest-ranking project. Barry Callebaut's headquarters design was inspired by the chocolate sensory wheel, which showcases the many flavors, aromas and textures of cocoa products.

Innovation is our cornerstone, and not just when it comes to products; it extends to how we interact with customers. We're honored and proud to win the esteemed Telly Award for Treat Tomorrow -- our platform geared towards redefining chocolate indulgence of the future.

The Lean Diamonds Award, co-hosted by the Lean Analytics Association, PwC Belgium and Cranfield University, honors organizations who have succeeded in employing lean strategies for ongoing enhancement.

Barry Callebaut has been graced with the NCA Ruby Award for Supplier Innovation in recognition of WholeFruit chocolate. American Packaging Corp. and Blommer Chocolate Co. both earned the distinction of being named as finalists.

Barry Callebaut has justifiably earned a place on CDP's highly esteemed Supplier Engagement Leaderboard for the fourth year running. This affirmation puts us among the top 8% of businesses who conveyed their ecological data to CDP in 2021.

The Forever Chocolate program has been awarded the BOLDest award in Sustainability 2022. The recognition of Forever Chocolate is testimony to our, and our partners’, ongoing commitment to create impact on the ground and lead change.

Almost two years after unleashing the power of the cacaofruit with the unveiling of WholeFruit chocolate, a revolutionary new type of chocolate, our global brand Cacao Barry launches a WholeFruit chocolate that enchants artisans across the globe.

2021

Out of nearly 12,000 companies which were scored by CDP in 2021, Barry Callebaut is one of 24 high-performing companies, securing a place on CDP’s prestigious ‘A List’. 

We are proud to be recognized by CDP as a Supplier Engagement Leader for the second consecutive year, taking into account not just our direct operations but also our scope 3 emissions. This places us in the top 7% among over 5,600 companies assessed in 2020 and shows that we at Barry Callebaut are committed to reducing our carbon footprint beyond direct operations.

Cabosse Naturals has been awarded for making a sustainable difference that impacts both the environment and social responsibility, and was a finalist for the Most Innovative Ingredient during the World Innovation Awards 2021.

Sustainalytics, the top assessor of environmental, social and governance risks in supply chains, has given Barry Callebaut a top ranking for yet another consecutive year. This confirms our commitment to leading our peers in sustainability efforts.

2019

Forever Chocolate, Barry Callebaut’s plan to make sustainable chocolate the norm, is considered the #1 sustainability strategy in the packaged foods industry. This is concluded by Sustainalytics after its annual assessment of 178 packaged food companies on the management of environmental, social and governance risks in their supply chains.

2018

The first ever Ruby Award for Supplier Innovation at the Sweets & Snacks Expo was presented to the Barry Callebaut Group in recognition of its cutting-edge development: Rose-tinted, berry-hinting Ruby chocolate.

2016

Cooper Construction Company of Hendersonville, NC was responsible for constructing our facility, which has been recognized by Varco Pruden Buildings - a division of BlueScope Buildings North America, Inc. and one of the leading building solutions providers in the US and Canada with a network of more than 1000 builders.

2015

The European Patent Office has awarded their patent EP 2 152 091 on our reduced fat chocolate. With this patent, the Barry Callebaut Group continues to broaden its innovation-based product offering of reformulated products. 

2013

The esteemed event celebrates outstanding accomplishments by companies in sustainability, guided by the principle of creating a world where people and the environment both thrive together.

2011

The esteemed panel of industry experts announced that Barry Callebaut's Terra Cacao won the FiE Confectionery Innovation of the Year Excellence Award, recognizing the exemplary work and contribution to the industry. Following this, Terra Cacao also received the Most Innovative Food Ingredient Award.
