Ebony & ivory cake

Ebony cake mix

Ingredients
150 g dark chocolate
75 g butter
3 egg yolks
3 egg whites
75 g sugar
120 g flour
1 sachet of baking powder

Preparation
Melt the dark chocolate in a bain-marie and stir in the butter until you have a smooth cream. Remove the dish from the bain-marie and beat the egg yolks into the chocolate mixture one at a time. Fold the sieved flour, the sugar and the baking powder into the mixture. Finally beat the egg whites until stiff and fold them carefully into the cake mix.

 Ivory cake mix

Ingredients
150 g white chocolate
75 g butter
3 egg yolks
3 egg whites
75 g sugar
120 g flour
1 sachet of baking powder

Preparation
Follow the same preparations as for the ebony cake mix using the white chocolate instead.


Finishing

Pre-heat the oven to 175°C. Butter two baking tins and pour in alternating layers of ivory and dark cake mix without stirring. Bake these cakes for 35 minutes.
