The FLO arrange direct contracts with thousands of small manufacturers, traders, importers and exporters of foodstuffs, toys, furniture, etc. and ensures that they are paid a higher price for their products. The organization provides support for the sustainable development of small farmers and farm workers in developing countries and ensures independent monitoring of the international fair trade conditions. The label on the products is the guarantee thereof.
These products are manufactured with raw materials that have been purchased from Fairtrade manufacturers who have been recognized by the FLO.
All these products are manufactured and registered in separate production runs. This registration is necessary in order for the FLO to be able to carry out checks on the volumes of raw materials purchased and the volumes of processed products sold.
